Salzburger Bierkultur

Salzburg's beer culture is a centuries-old tradition supported by privately run breweries and exceptional gastronomy.

Stiegl Brewery in Salzburg
Beer tradition for 530 years

Austria's leading private brewery stands for the best beer, variety, quality and sustainable business practices. At Stiegl, around 20 different beer specialties are brewed in a combination of traditional brewing craftsmanship, state-of-the-art technology and "slow brewing".

Hofbräu Kaltenhausen
Creative beers & beer specialties

Salzburg's oldest brewery stands for living brewing craft since 1475 and a successful combination of tradition and modernity. Today, the old brewing methods and recipes form the basis for new innovative beer creations, which are produced in the revitalized walls of the historic brewery building in genuine handcraft.

Trumer Private Brewery
The pilsner beer specialist

Beer has been brewed in Obertrum since 1601, and Josef Sigl is now the eighth generation to run the independent private brewery. The flag bearer of the brewery, which brews according to its own values and the philosophy of "Slow Brewing", is the multiple award-winning Trumer Pils.

Augustiner Brew
Kloster Mülln Salzburg - historic & traditional - since 1621.

Austria's largest beer restaurant includes 5 halls from different eras, an impressive guest garden with 1,300 seats under more than 35 chestnut trees and the unique Schmankerlgang with fine regional specialties.

The Weisse
Weissbier specialist

In Salzburg's cult beer inn, tradition is writ large. Die Weisse is the oldest wheat beer brewery in Austria, and here it has been brewed according to the original recipe since 1901. "Die Weisse Hell" is a naturally cloudy, amber-colored wheat beer.

Kiesbye Beer Culture House
We brew enthusiasm.

As the only specialized academy for beer culture and beer sommeliering, passion, applicability, competence and excellence are combined here. The sommelier diploma as an internationally renowned training program for beer experts was developed by Axel Kiesbye in 2003. The training courses at the Bierkulturhaus
are constantly being expanded.
